Terms

Terms of use and privacy for the THUG2 Online patch, its online service and this site. Short, honest, and nobody will quiz you on it. Using any of them means you're cool with everything below.

  1. We don't ship the game

    THUG2 Online does not sell, ship or share Tony Hawk's Underground 2. The patch has none of the game's levels, skaters, art, music or movies in it: just a new executable for your system and a few script files that sit on top of your own install. No copy, no game. Get yours the honest way.

    Check the attic. Check your cousin's attic.

  2. Their stuff is theirs

    Tony Hawk's Underground 2, its name, logos, artwork, music and code belong to Activision and the rest of their owners. THUG2 Online is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Activision, Neversoft or GameSpy, and it claims none of it and sells none of it. The art on this site comes from the game you already own and is here only to show which game this is about.

    The GameSpy badge is a tribute to the service that ran THUG2 online until 2014. That service is gone; this one is a replacement written from scratch. If you own something here and want it changed or taken down, email [email protected] and it's handled fast. No lawyers needed, but they're welcome to skate.

  3. No warranty, no tears

    The patch, the server and this site are free and provided "as is", with no warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for anything that happens because you used them: lost saves, a sulking router, a sighing GPU, a corrupted folder, or bailing a 900 in front of the whole lobby. The patch overwrites files in the folder you unzip it into, so back that folder up first if you love it.

    Helmets are free. Wear one.

  4. Be cool in the park

    No cheating, griefing, harassment, hate, spam or impersonation, and no attacking or abusing the servers. Nicknames, chat and pager messages should be things you'd say at a skate park with kids around. We can kick, mute, rename, ban, wipe stats or reset rankings whenever someone ruins it for everyone else.

  5. What we keep about you

    Guests: nothing beyond the live session. Profiles: your email (never shown to other players), a salted password hash, your nickname, your homie list, and your ratings, stats and scores. Pager messages are passed along live and never stored. The server keeps request logs with IP addresses for a short while, to stop abuse and fix bugs, and uses your address to connect you to the games you join.

    No ads, no trackers, no cookies on this site, and nothing is ever sold to anyone. Want your profile gone? Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with.

  6. Uptime, in spirit

    THUG2 Online runs on goodwill, stubbornness and coffee. The server can change, pause or shut down at any time, for any reason, including "needed sleep". There's no subscription, so there's nothing to refund.
